IEFTA to present 5th edition of Refugee Voices in Film at Cannes Docs
Cannes Docs is honoured to welcome back the International Emerging Film Talent Association (IEFTA), a Monaco-based, non-profit, non-governmental organization that organizes, finances and promotes festivals, exhibition, education and development.
This year, IEFTA, in collaboration with the UNHCR and ‘Telling the Real Story (TRS)’, will present the 5th edition of Refugee Voices in Film — a curated set of shorts focusing on the imaginative and humanitarian efforts of filmmakers as they document experiences of those enduring irregular migration, whether from violence, famine or political oppression.
Returning to Cannes Docs, where the original Refugee Voices in Film played back in 2016, the 5th edition program has already gained traction premiering in El Gouna Film Festival in 2021, and also playing at Berlin’s EFM earlier this year.
IEFTA and Cannes Docs invite you to join them at two special short film screenings where you can find out how to get involved, contribute and create change for refugees throughout the world! 🤝 🌍
📆 Saturday 21 May, 12:00-13:00 (CET) | Palais I & Online
The first screening will be followed by an informal Q&A attended by the films’ directors, along with delegates from the UNHCR and Telling The Real Story.
📆 Sunday 22 May, 12:00-13:00 (CET) | Palais I & Online
The second screening will be followed by a workshop and roundtable discussion which IEFTA will co-host with the UNHCR, discussing the challenges, needs and opportunities for refugee filmmakers.
