🎶 Spot the Composer Opens Submissions for Cannes
The Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes is delighted to announce the much-anticipated return of Spot The Composer — the dedicated platform for talented film music composers from around the globe to connect with potential film collaborators in Cannes.
Launched in 2020 with the support of SACEM, Spot the Composer is now inviting film composers worldwide to apply to the 2024 program, from 17-20 May.
Every year, 10 international film music composers are chosen and invited to Cannes to attend exclusive one-to-one meetings, meticulously organized to connect them with film projects at various stages of development or production.
This year’s program also includes a case study on film promotion & marketing through film music, a masterclass on film music (presented by SACEM) and networking events designed to foster more harmonious collaborations in the prestigious Cannes gathering.
The 10 selected composers are granted free accreditation to the Marché du Film, a 3-night stay in Cannes and a one-year subscription to DISCO, the program’s official music management platform partner.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be established composers with at least ten IMDb credits as the main composer, including at least two feature-length films.
- Composers can attend the STC program twice in total, with a minimum gap of three years between attendances.
- The program will select 10 participants from Europe and North America. However, applicants from other regions may be considered if they can secure a valid visa.
- Applicants must provide a DISCO playlist to validate their submissions. Choose tracks that best represent your various composition styles. Note that only the first 10 tracks from the playlist will be reviewed by the selection committee. If you do not yet have a DISCO profile, please create an account using this link which will offer you a free 2-month subscription.
- Participants must cover their own travel expenses to and from Cannes. Accommodation from 17 to 20 May (3 nights) and accreditation to the Marché du Film will be provided for the selected composers.
- Selected composers must commit to participate in the entire STC program, including all one-to-one meetings with directors.
- Only the selected composers will be notified directly via email on 15 April 2024 about their selection.
- Selected composers will be featured on the Marché du Film website and the Spot the Composer web page.
