✍️ INCAA and the Marché du Film Renew Agreement to Host Ventana Sur Until 2026
The National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Marché du Film have renewed their agreement to continue hosting Ventana Sur, the largest Latin American film market created in 2009. The existing agreement, signed on-site during the 2023 Marché du Film edition, has now been extended until 2026.
Ventana Sur is the most significant film industry event and market in Latin America, bringing together more than 2,000 participants every year, including over 300 buyers and sellers from across the five continents. It is organized by INCAA in conjunction with the Marché du Film, one of the largest film markets in the world, which has been in operation since 1959.
During the 2023 market edition in Cannes, Nicolás Batlle, President of INCAA, and Guillaume Esmiol, Executive Director of the Marché du Film, signed the renewal of the agreement. The agreement’s renewal also includes the continuity of the Cannes Film Week, a program organized by the Festival de Cannes, running parallel to the audiovisual market, offering the public a selection of feature films previously awarded at the Festival but not yet released in Argentina.
“We are proud to renew this agreement with the Marché du Film and continue to offer the audiovisual industry a space for promotion and exchange in Latin America,” said Nicolás Batlle. “Ventana Sur has become a key event for Latin American cinema and an opportunity to showcase our work and talent to the world.”
Guillaume Esmiol added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with INCAA and further strengthen the Cannes Film Festival’s presence in Latin America. Ventana Sur is a vital platform for the exchange of ideas and projects between professionals worldwide, and we are proud to be part of it.”
Ventana Sur will continue to be held annually in Buenos Aires, bringing together film professionals from across the region and around the world to showcase and promote the best of Latin American cinema. The next edition is scheduled to take place at the end of the year in November/December 2023.
