⭐ Marché du Film Confirms Groundbreaking Record of More Than 14,000 Accredited Participants in 2023 Edition
The Marché du Film has announced a groundbreaking record of more than 14,000 accredited participants in Cannes from over 120 countries at its 2023 edition. This figure surpasses the previous record of 12,500 onsite participants in 2019 and exceeds the estimated number of 13,500 that was given at the start of the market event on 16 May.
The 2023 edition of the Marché du Film was particularly lively, with a clear boost in onsite exhibitors and industry events. The market hosted its biggest lineup of conferences, works-in-progress showcases, pitching sessions, and workshops to date. The event also introduced new initiatives, including the Cannes Streamers Forum, Cannes Investors Circle, Virtual Production Summit, new services & events for sales agents and buyers, and a stronger focus on diversity and inclusion in the film industry.
With the rise of streaming services and disruptive innovations, the Marché du Film has aimed to adapt to the changing landscape of the film industry by embracing new technologies and business opportunities. The success of this year’s market edition is a testament to that goal.
“We are incredibly proud to have hosted such a successful market edition,” said Guillaume Esmiol, the new Executive Director of the Marché du Film. “The confirmed number of participants exceeded our expectations and our initial estimation. We are excited to continue supporting the film industry and making the Marché du Film an unparalleled platform for networking, learning, and business.”
